United States Of avex artists [English covers of J-Pop songs]

United States Of avex artists is a compilation album of English covers of famous J-Pop songs

Vinnk's Take: United States Of avex artists is an odd little album. I am not sure exactly who it was made for. Maybe they were trying to introduce some hit Avex songs outside of Japan? Maybe for Japanese listeners why are studying English? Dunno. But why not have globe, Do as Infinity, Hitomi, TRF, Ayumi Hamasaki, etc. just recored English versions of their own songs? Instead they found American artist to do their own interpretations of the songs. Mixed results. Am I talking you out of buying this album? I hope not. It's an amazing curiosity and if you are a fan of these artists it's interesting to see how their hit songs got remade. The Frank Sinatra Jr. cover of Departures by globe I linked below shows the potential.
